The Grid
Our studio film. A grid of identical cars, one green car, and the question every brand has to answer.
Which one are you building?
One green car on a grid of identical ones. Our own studio film.
The Brief
We needed one film to open the HNRX Studio homepage. It had to say what we do in 21 seconds, to a business owner who has never heard of us, even with the sound off.
The Idea
Most markets look like a starting grid. Everyone lines up in the same color, making the same promise. So we built one. Every car on the grid is the same flat silver. One is green, close to the studio’s own color, with the number 1 on its nose. Your eye finds it before you read a word.
The Story
The driver stands in for the client. The film moves from gloves, helmet and the moments before the start into the green car at speed. The race gives way to an embrace, fireworks and a poolside celebration. Three lines carry the argument. Some brands blend in. Some last a lifetime. Which one are you building?
How It Was Made
The edit began with the pace of vintage racing: flashes, cuts and camera energy. We gave that rhythm a new story. The driver, his wardrobe and the car were designed first to establish a consistent face, scarf and number. Empty location plates established the harbor street, paddock and night terrace before the action was added. Faces, wardrobe, car details and stray lettering were review priorities. The opening grid was remade because the first version put numbers on rival cars, weakening the contrast with the green number 1. Pedro cut the final film to the music and added the bold serif statements and studio mark.
